Q: Why do I blog?
A: I could babble to my friends about all the things that interest me, but few would stay awake let alone be interested let alone share their own thoughts back. A journal might work, but who'd give feedback? On a blog, people might stop by on purpose or by accident and might be amused or interested or angry or whatever and might even add their own thoughts. Plus, it's a way to leave my thoughts (a/k/a myself) for my children and grandchildren to know me better. Assuming they want to, ha ha, and assuming they read it, of course.

Smoking ban moves outdoors
posted at 5:58 PM | Permalink |
The Nanny of New York (a/k/a Mayor Bloomberg) reportedly wants to ban smoking outdoors as well as in. Normblog has written a - presumably sarcastic - piece on same.

Let's ban smoking, fat, cholesterol, alcohol, driving, roller coasters, bungee jumping, parasailing, watching television, Facebook and computer solitaire.

I do like the no smoking ban and people accept it! No one however will accept one outside. Thats bizzar! I work in Hotels in York and they would lose a fortune if this came into play.

Michael, I agree - I like the ban indoors, immensely. But outdoors seems silly, doesn't it?

I *love* your hotel. I want to come over right this minute and stroll the grounds and read on the banks of the river and then have tea and scones.....!
